Dr. Thomas Liebscher, Deputy Chief Physician, Treatment Center for Spinal Cord Injuries, Trauma Hospital Berlin

Dr. Thomas Liebscher is Deputy Chief Physician at the Treatment Center for Spinal Cord Injuries in the Trauma Hospital Berlin. After completing medical school at the University Clinic of Carl-Gustav-Carus in Dresden he worked for two years at the Institute of Brain Research at the University and the Federal High School of Zurich (Eidgenössische Hochschule Zürich) under Professor Martin Schwab. He then completed his training as a specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery. His research was focused on new therapies in the sector of neuroregeneration and neuroprotection, and multimodality therapy concepts for paraplegic syndromes.

Dr. Marcel Kopp, Co-Group Leader, Spinal Cord Injury Research, Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin

Dr. Marcel Kopp is co-coordinator of the Spinal Cord Injury Research group at the Department of Neurology and Experimental Neurology at Charité Berlin. After completing medical school at Humboldt University he joined Jan Schwab’s Spinal Cord Injury Research group in 2008 and has been working here since this time. His research is focused on qualitative and quantitative aspects of neurogenic immunodepression, translational therapy studies, and epidemiological research on disease-modifying factors after spinal cord injury.

Martin Kreutzträger is a doctor undergoing advanced training at the Treatment Center for Spinal Cord Injuries, Trauma Hospital Berlin. After completing medical school at Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University Clinic in Frankfurt am Main, he worked for three years at St. Marienkrankenhaus in Berlin at the Department of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery.

Tom Lübstorf is Master of Science in biotechnology. Since 2016 he is PhD Student in the Spinal Cord Injury Research Group at the Charité Department of Experimental Neurology, Campus Mitte.
